For students aged 14–17, the San Sebastian Spanish Camp is an action-packed adventure in this safe, stylish and compact city in Spain’s beautiful Basque Region.
The camp combines an immersive 20-lesson language course with a programme of supervised activities, visits and excursions to introduce students to the lifestyle, culture, and sports of this vibrant part of Spain. The course is suitable for Spanish speakers of all levels, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced learners, with classes grouped by level.
The school provides supervision for group activities whilst also giving young people the freedom to discover the beautiful city of San Sebastian, having fun learning and socialising with other students.
This course is Sunday arrival and Saturday departure. Lessons run from Monday to Friday. There is a full-day excursion every Saturday for students not departing that day.
The language course comprises 20 lessons of 45 minutes each. The school caters for all abilities, from beginners (with specific start dates) to more advanced French speakers. Tuition is very much practice-oriented, meaning classes don’t solely teach grammar, verbs and vocabulary; they also put students in real-life situations and encourage them to gain confidence through peer discussion. During the week, 5 classes of 45 minutes focus on a collaborative project, enabling students from many different countries to work closely together. Lessons take place in the morning.
This San Sebastian summer camp is an activity programme designed for teenagers seeking independence and wanting to make new friends from around the world. During the welcome meeting on the first day of your course, you will be given information about the activities.
Three afternoons per week, you will be supervised in a variety of leisure activities. Activities vary from week to week to make sure that those staying for multiple weeks experience variety within their programme.
For the other two afternoons, students are given the freedom to enjoy exploring San Sebastian with their new friends.
A full-day activity is provided on the Saturday*.
Surfing or cooking lessons can be added for the two free afternoons at an additional cost.
* Students staying for 2 or more weeks will have the Saturday excursion included in the camp price; however for those attending the camp for 1 week only will need to book an extra night at the end of their trip to be able to take part in the excursion.
Host accommodation is available and is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the Spanish language and culture. Host accommodation is carefully selected and is conveniently situated within a 30 minute journey to the Camp. Hosts provide full board accommodation in twin rooms from the Sunday before your camp starts to the Saturday after it finishes. Students opting for a Sunday departure will be able to stay for an additional night with their hosts and enjoy the Saturday excursion, for an extra fee.
