Work Experience + in Germany

Designed for students aged 16–18, our unique Work and Study programme give students an authentic experience of using German in real-life workplace settings. Students gain confidence and invaluable professional skills in teamwork, communication, resilience and problem-solving.

For longer stays, our Internships programme places students in full-time placements with businesses and organisations in Germany, tailored to their skills and language level. Find out more and book an Internship in Germany.

Structure and Content

A Work and Study package combines an intensive language course of 20 lessons with work placements with local businesses.

At language school, students are placed in international groups of students all working at the same level to ensure they make rapid progress. The pacy, interactive courses cover speaking and listening, reading and writing, with a focus on encouraging students to use German with fluency and confidence.

Work placements generally around 12–15 hours in the workplace between Monday and Friday. They are an opportunity to speak German in a real-life environment and gain valuable transferable skills.

Work Placements

Work placements are allocated based on students’ preferences, academic interests and prior work experience. With extensive networks of trusted partners in all our destination cities, our placement coordinators take care to ensure students are placed a setting which best matches their interests, experience and language learning goals.
