German Summer Camp FAQs

All our German summer camps include an intensive course of German lessons for all students. A typical week at Summer Camp will include around 20 hours of morning lessons from Monday to Friday. The lessons cover core skills and vocabulary in German, helping students improve their skills in speaking and listening, reading and writing. Students are placed in classes alongside other young people from around the world working at the same CEFR language level.

What are the key differences between a summer camp and an intensive language course?

  • Summer camps are for young people only, whereas classes in general German language courses are open to all ages.
  • Summer camps offer activity programmes tailored to young people’s interests.
  • Summer camps offer a higher level of supervision than a general German courses

At Blue Stamp Travel, we are committed to ensuring that everyone who travels with us is safe, secure and happy.

We only work with fully accredited summer camp providers that employ qualified staff and operate to the highest standards of safety and safeguarding. Activities are pitched at an appropriate level for the age and stage of the students involved and delivered by suitably qualified instructors.

The Berlin Adventure and Munich Adventure summer camps are based in tranquil settings in the countryside outside the respective cities. The summer camps in the cities of Berlin and Munich enjoy dedicated facilities for the students to use for lessons and much of the activity programmes. When students visit the cities, the language schools provide supervision appropriate to the students’ ages.

Summer camps in Germany are designed for students to stay overnight in their own residence accommodation.

Generally, a summer camp is suitable for students who already have some knowledge of German rather than complete beginners with no knowledge of the language at all. If you’re in any doubt, get in touch and we will be happy to advise.

At the other end of the spectrum, summer camps are a great opportunity for young people who are already confident German speakers to hone their skills alongside other advanced students.

Our Munich Adventure and Berlin Adventure summer camps are all about making the most of the incredible natural landscape that Germany has to offer. The Berlin Adventure Summer Camp is set by an idyllic lake in a forest just outside Berlin, with all the opportunities for water sports, beach games and summer camp fun you can imagine.

The Munich Adventure Summer Camp is based in a tiny village in the Bavarian Alps. With a pristine mountain lake, green meadows and mountains, this summer camp is all about getting outdoors for mountain biking, rock climbing, swimming and more!

Summer Camps – Practical Questions

Many students enrol for long stays on a French Summer Camp to make the most of the opportunity to immerse themselves in French language and culture. For shorter stays, the busy activity programmes ensure there’s never a dull moment, from parties and discos to beach games, cooking classes and team-building exercises.

Each summer camp has its own schedule, so check the course page to see exactly when you can enrol. Generally, summer camps operate to fit with European school summer holidays. These tend to start earlier than UK summer holidays, often in June. Most summer camps finish in mid to late August.

Summer camps will always make every effort to accommodate students with specific dietary needs.

In homestay accommodation there there may be a supplementary charge to accommodate specific dietary requirements such as a gluten- or dairy-free diets.

Our bespoke Babel trip planning platform allows you to inform us of all your child’s health and dietary requirements, which we share with the summer camp provider.
