Breaking Boundaries: My Internship at Blue Stamp Travel

During my exchange at Nottingham Trent University, I had the opportunity to complete a 5-month internship abroad as part of my studies. I chose to stay in the UK. It was hard to find an internship. However, finding an internship was not an easy task. I sent out countless CVs, often receiving no response at all. Just when I started to feel discouraged, I stumbled across an opening at Blue Stamp Travel for a Digital and Social Media Marketing Assistant.

Marketing had been on my radar for a while, and this role felt like the perfect fit. I sent my CV and a cover letter expressing my interest, and to my surprise, I got a reply almost immediately inviting me for an interview. I was thrilled. After several unsuccessful interviews elsewhere, this felt like my last chance, and honestly, the one I wanted the most.

I researched Blue Stamp Travel and was immediately interested in the services they offer. I had taken part in a trip similar to the ones they organise in my teens, so their concept resonated with me. The interview went well; I had prepared thoroughly and stayed true to myself. Not long after, I received the best news: I got the role.

In February 2025, I started my internship. Like anyone starting something new, I was nervous, but the team quickly made me feel welcome. I was given a full tour of the office and introduced to everyone. Right from day one, I was assigned tasks, and I loved that. I wasn’t treated like “just the temporary intern”. I felt part of the team despite only being there for a few months.

One of my favourite and most significant projects during my internship was creating a series of video guides for each of Blue Stamp’s package destinations.

Throughout my internship, I worked on a variety of exciting tasks: designing posters, writing blog posts, creating content for social media, and editing YouTube videos. Each project taught me something new, from how content scheduling works to the basics of branding. But beyond the technical skills, the most important thing I discovered was my passion for digital marketing.

Before my internship, I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to take professionally. Nothing had ever really “clicked”. But being immersed in the world of digital marketing, seeing how ideas turn into real campaigns, and getting creative every day, changed everything. I finally felt like I had found something I genuinely enjoyed and could imagine myself doing long-term.

What made the experience even more meaningful was seeing the impact of my work. I felt proud seeing my content live on the Blue Stamp Travel Instagram page, spotting my posters on the website’s resource page, and reading blog posts I had written being shared across platforms. It wasn’t just fun, it was fulfilling.

The work environment itself was another highlight. I liked my working hours, the flexibility I had in managing my time, and the fact that I could balance my university assignments alongside my tasks. There were deadlines, of course, but I appreciated being able to choose from a variety of tasks, from designing visuals to editing videos, depending on what I felt inspired to do that day.

A highlight from my internship experience was the opportunity to join a school group as a French group leader during their tour of Paris.

And beyond the work, I simply enjoyed being there. The warm, joyful energy in the office, the little jokes shared throughout the day, and our relaxed lunchtime breaks made every day a good one.

This internship has been a turning point for me. I grew both personally and professionally, gained clarity about my future, and had a genuinely great time doing it. I’m grateful to Blue Stamp Travel for the experience; it gave me confidence, purpose, and the feeling that I really can find joy in my career.
