Discover Blue Stamp Travel's range of intensive Spanish courses
With focused, engaging lessons at language school, an Intensive Spanish Course boosts confidence and fluency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Suitable for all ability levels, from beginners to advanced linguists.
An intensive language course typically comprises 20 lessons taught on weekday mornings. Classes are taught in international groups of students all working at the same level, so students enjoy learning at the correct standard and make rapid progress. The pacy, interactive courses cover speaking and listening, reading and writing, with a focus on encouraging students to use Spanish with fluency and confidence.
Prior to travelling students take a short online level test to place them in the appropriate class based on their CEFR language level. Read our handy guide to language levels to find out more and try a online self-assessment, or find out about a typical week at language school.
Few cities anywhere in the world can match the buzz and excitement of studying Spanish in Barcelona with its unrivalled range of attractions and sights. Despite its size and status, a language course in Madrid can still feel surprisingly intimate, especially in the quiet, narrow streets away from the main thoroughfares. Our language school partners in Valencia’s historic city centre put you in the heart of its maze of winding streets, with the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences a must-see on any visit. Of Spain’s other large cities, intensive Spanish courses in Malaga is always popular thanks to its attractive climate and rich history. As the home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites and countless monuments and museums, Seville has entranced and delighted visitors for hundreds of years.
For students who prefer smaller, more walkable cities, Alicante, Granada, Salamanca and San Sebastian are fantastic destinations: safe, welcoming and the ideal size to explore during a short visit. Alicante is a pretty city on the coast with a fantastic beach right on the doorstep – perfect to relax after a hard day’s lessons at language school. When you study Spanish in Granada you will be inspired by the city’s extraordinary history and especially the fabulous UNESCO World Heritage Alhambra Palace complex. Authentically Spanish Salamanca is a great destination for a language course, and, as home to one of Spain’s most prestigious universities, this picturesque city enjoys a thriving cultural life. The resort of San Sebastian, on Spain’s north coast, is proud of its unique identity, with exceptional opportunities for surfing and a culture of gastronomy renowned around the world.
Most students choose homestay accommodation for their Intensive Language Course for the chance to experience local life at first-hand. Carefully vetted hosts support students during their stays, which can be especially valuable for young people travelling alone for the first time. Read our guide to homestay accommodation to find out more.
Many language schools also offer residence and shared apartment accommodation. Please check when booking as age restrictions apply. Places in residences and shared apartments are highly sought-after, so we strongly advise you contact us when booking so we can ensure a place is available.
Each language school offers a bespoke programme of cultural activities during the afternoons and at weekends so students get to make friends and make the most of their stay in Spain. Typical activities include city tours and treasure hunts, photo rallies, beach games or sports, cookery classes, dancing and film evenings. Activity programmes vary from week to week and are generally announced at the beginning of each week. Some activities are offered at an additional charge.
