My Work Experience at Blue Stamp Travel
I recently completed a week of work experience at Blue Stamp Travel, where I had the opportunity to learn more about the travel industry and experience what it’s like working in a professional office.

Why I Chose Blue Stamp Travel
I chose to complete my work experience at Blue Stamp Travel because the roles available matched my interests and gave me the chance to learn more about a career in the travel industry. I wanted to gain experience in a workplace where I could develop new skills while also getting an insight into what the job involves on a day to day basis.
First Impressions
Before starting my placement, I felt intrigued and curious about the different tasks I would be working on throughout the week. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but I was looking forward to learning something new and finding out more about how the company operates.
The Projects I Worked On
Throughout the week, I worked on a variety of different tasks. I analysed information in Excel, creating pivot tables and charts to organise data. I also researched Quimper in France and used my findings to create a destination guide in Canva. Another task involved carrying out SEO research to compare Blue Stamp Travel with other companies in the industry, which gave me a better understanding of digital marketing and competitor analysis.
My Favourite Project
The task I enjoyed the most was researching and creating the destination guide for Quimper. I liked being able to carry out my own research and then use it to design an informative guide. It gave me the opportunity to be creative while producing something that could be useful for future travellers.

Overcoming Challenges
One of the most challenging parts of my work experience was using certain features in Excel, especially when completing tasks I hadn’t done before. Whenever I got stuck, I either asked a member of the team for help or searched online to find the answer. This helped me learn new techniques and become more confident using the software.
Skills I’ve Developed
During my placement, I developed several useful skills, including problem solving, resilience, creativity and productivity. Working on different projects encouraged me to think independently, manage my time effectively and adapt to new tasks throughout the week.
Advice for Future Students
My advice for anyone starting work experience would be to ask questions whenever you’re curious or unsure about something. Be willing to learn, get involved with the different tasks you’re given and stay positive throughout the experience. It’s a great opportunity to build new skills, gain confidence and learn more about a career that interests you!
